Father Roberto Asta and father Prosper Ntabangana

Father Prosper Ntabangana is the new parish priest of Madonna delle Lacrime in Vittoria (RG). The official inauguration took place on September 11th, in the presence of the Bishop of Ragusa, Giuseppe La Placa; the Vicar General of the Diocese, Father Sebastiano Roberto Asta, who will assist Father Prosper as parish moderator; Father Giuseppe Giunta, who for a year presided over Madonna delle Lacrime in addition to Madonna Assunta; and the Superior General of the Doctrinaries, Father Sergio La Pegna.
During the celebration, the parishioners thanked Father Giunta for the year they spent together, for having “brought much serenity, arranged the parish premises, decorated the liturgical hall, and opened an efficient secretarial service,” giving them “the opportunity to experience moments of communion and brotherhood with the community of the Madonna Assunta and to learn about the charism of the Congregation to which he belongs and the life of its founder, Saint Cesare De Bus.”
In the same message, the parishioners then addressed the Bishop: “Our community is delighted with your appointments to lead the parish, a sign of your paternal concern for this small portion of the Church, and we welcome the appointed priests with immense joy. The people of our region need to be listened to, the sick are pleased to be visited, families await answers. We all need formation to be witnesses of Christ and to become an open and inclusive community, welcoming everyone without any preclusions. A community open to the new things the Holy Spirit offers us, enthusiastic and united, a pilgrim of hope.”
“To all these needs,” concludes the message from the parishioners of Madonna delle Lacrime, “our very young parish priest, Father Prosper Ntabangana, is well suited, filled with joy for Christ, full of enthusiasm and zeal. He can bring a breath of fresh air to our community. Father Prosper will be supported by Father Roberto Asta, as parish priest moderator. He is well-known and well-liked by many parishioners for having long been our parish vicar. With his calm demeanor, his smile that conveys security and serenity, and his experience, he will contribute to community discernment.”
Father Prosper will receive all possible support to support him and carry out any initiatives deemed useful. As a doctrinary priest, Father Prosper will be able to place the proclamation of the Word of God at the center, addressed to all through accessible, comprehensible, and life-affirming catechesis.
“We ask the Lord to grant Father Prosper and Father Roberto His Holy Blessing and the Holy Spirit, so that they may receive the graces they need.”
