Father Battista Previtali returned to the Father’s house on Friday 20 October. The funeral was celebrated in Rome, in the parish of Sant’Andrea Apostolo, via Cassia 731, on Monday 23 October at 11am and Tuesday 24 October at 3pm, in Bonate Sopra in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta.
Father Battista Previtali was born in Bonate Sopra (BG) on 22 January 1934. Having entered the Congregation of Doctrinaries in 1946, he was ordained a priest in Varallo Sesia (VC) on 12 July 1959. He perfected his theological studies at the Angelicum in Rome and obtained his degree in Philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan. He was parish priest of San Giovanni Bosco in Cristo Re in Vigevano (PV), from 1974 to 1980, at Gesù Nazareno in Turin from 1980 to 1985, at Cavaillon in the city of the founder from that same year, and then again parish priest at Sant’Andrea apostle in Rome from 1997 to 2007, where he also served as Prefect of the XIII Prefecture.
