Chrism Mass on Monday 14 April at 6:30 pm, in the cathedral of Cavaillon, presided over by the archbishop of Avignon, Mgr. François Fonlupt.
The Chrism Mass – usually celebrated in the Avignon Cathedral on Holy Thursday – takes its name from the oils blessed for the celebration of the sacraments, in particular chrism, the perfumed oil used for the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and orders.
The Doctrinaries leading the parish of the Cavaillon-Les Vignères-Cheval Blanc sector, invited the faithful to live this experience of a diocesan Church gathered around the bishop. The priests and deacons of the diocese renewed their promises, made on the day of ordination.
At the end of the celebration, the bishop, priests and faithful were able to venerate the relics of Saint Cesare de Bus, on the eve of the anniversary of his death, which occurred on 15 April 1607. It was Easter Sunday.
