Burundi, lay doctrinaires pilgrims to Muyaga

The lay doctrinaires who refer to the parish in the Ruziba district of Bujumbura and to the house of Gitega, which houses the Novitiate and the Theological Studentate, have organized a pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Muyaga in the diocese of Ruyigi in the east of the country. , in preparation for the canonization of the founder Cesare De Bus.
The 72 pilgrims chose Muyaga because it was the first parish in Burundi, founded in 1898 by European missionaries. The first Burundian catechists come from there.
The theme that the parish priest proposed to pilgrims for prayer and meditation was “Let’s go up to the mountain of teaching”, with reference to the Gospel of Matthew 5: 1-12.
